A community meeting will be held for the public to comment on the proposed fare increases for the ART bus and STAR Zone 1. Arlington Transit has proposed to increase the ART base fare from $1.50 to $1.75 and increase the ART discounted fare for seniors, middle and high school students, and people with disabilities from $0.75 to $0.85. Staff has also proposed increasing the STAR Zone 1 fare from $3.00 to $3.50 per trip. If approved, the fare increases would go into effect on July 1, 2014.
