What: On Saturday, May 9th step forward for shelter animals at Animal Welfare League of Arlington’s 20th Anniversary Walk for the Animals and Pet Festival at Bluemont Park. For two decades Arlington County’s largest pet-centered event has brought two-legged and four-legged residents together for a day of celebration and fun to benefit shelter animals, services and programs supported by AWLA—The County’s only humane society.

Lace up your walking shoes, leash up fido and join hundreds of animal enthusiasts for a 5k walk or one-mile stroll through the park. After the walk, the 20th anniversary celebration will continue with a newly added Pet Festival. Shop pet-friendly vendors, view exciting demonstrations, and indulge in a savory bite from a food truck. Children will also enjoy craft and educational activities in the Kid’s Corner.

Funds generated at the Walk for the Animals aid in the daily care of our animals as well as help our community through various programs.
