Transit Service Alerts

Metrorail:

  • Navy Yard's Half Street entrance is closed until March 2026 for escalator replacement. Use the New Jersey Ave. SE entrance, which remains open with elevator access.
  • Trains are not running between Takoma and Brookland because of a signal problem outside Fort Totten. Shuttle service is available and customers are encouraged to use the Green Line for service to Fort Totten. Some trains will offload at strategic locations to minimize train traffic.
  • Customers can use route D30 for travel between Brookland and Fort Totten Station. Customers can also use route C77 for travel between Fort Totten and Takoma Station.

ART:

  • ART Route 74 - Detour
    Starting Friday, October 3 ART Route 74 will detour - Stops at S Barton St @ Columbia Pike (Eastbound), S Barton St @ 1210 (Eastbound), S Barton St @ 1414 (Eastbound), S Barton St @ 16th St S (both directions), 16th St S @ S Edgewood St (Eastbound), S Walter Reed Dr @ 16th St S (Eastbound), 16th St S @ S Walter Reed Dr (Westbound), 16th St S @ S Edgewood St Across From (Westbound), S Barton St @ 1415 (Westbound), S Barton St @ 1201 (Westbound) and Columbia Pike @ S Barton St (Westbound) will not be served between 6AM - 8PM due to construction. Asphalt paving activity expected to be completed by Wed., October 8, weather permitting.

Metrobus:
