Kat Flowers
Katerina Addie, owner
Prepare your nose and eyes for sensory overload. This is the experience you’ll get when you walk into Kat Flowers on Columbia Pike. Meet owner Katerina (aka “Kat”), from Belarus, who has been picking flowers since she was young. As a child, she would help her mother in the garden and prepare flower arrangements for guests to decorate the house. When she was 18, Kat worked for a company preparing flower arrangements but quickly realized she could be doing the same on her own. Once her business flourished, she sold it to come to the US in 2016.
In 2023, Kat settled on Columbia Pike across from Penrose Plaza. Her floral arrangements can be seen in neighboring restaurants like Sabores and all over the metropolitan DC area. Because of her European style boutique and attention to detail, Kat has clients such as Lamborghini, Bugatti and Cartier placing weekly orders. Kat prefers quality over quantity and her flowers are sourced from the freshest locations. This means less flowers being “stocked” in fridges and more space for preparing the arrangements. The extra space also lends itself well for her weekly floral workshops. Check out a class to learn how to arrange flowers, keep them fresh longer and other techniques. And with so many urban villages in Arlington, Kat Flowers also offers urban landscaping for small backyards and other small settings such as a high-rise balcony. What’s the most interesting arrangement? Kat calls it the lemon drop, which is a burst of color from green and yellow flowers with fresh limes to add a citrus aroma. Kat’s specialty is coming up with custom arrangements for her customers.
Situated on the eastbound side of Columbia Pike, Kat Flowers is easily accessible via Metrobus and ART. Pentagon Metro is nearby to combine with bus for car-free access. Summer hours may affect availability so call before you come. Otherwise, Kat Flowers is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Come see the magic and artwork Kat and her team can put together for you!
