Any of the five New York City boroughs come to mind when you walk into Natural Café Market & Deli. And that's by design, given the previous owner was from New York and set the market up to be a “bodega style” stop-in for snacks, groceries and deli sandwiches. Located on the ground level of an apartment building, manager/owner Suly Suleiman decided to capitalize on this built- in traffic. And thanks to this setup, many local customers who shop here are known on a first name basis. Frequent visitors are mostly young professionals and other tenants living in the building where Natural Café is located on the main level. This makes up 60% percent of the business that conveniently walks downstairs to do their shopping. Tenants from other buildings also walk here as well as tourists since Ballston Metro station is close by. Suly has cleverly stocked the shelves with toiletries and other travel needs.

Also don’t sleep on their wine selection. For example, you can pick up a nice bottle of Veuve Clicqout at a reasonable price. They offer breakfast sandwiches, a variety of salads, smoothies, sandwiches, and paninis including the P4 — a customers’ favorite of grilled chicken with fresh mozzarella, cheese and sundried tomatoes topped with basil pesto. With very reasonable prices, beer & wine and groceries — there are many reasons to visit this quaint family-run business.

Conveniently located in the urban village of Ballston, Natural Café is easy to get to on foot. Or you can make your way by bike, Metro or bus. So, leave the car at home and bring your appetite to Natural Café Market & Deli.
