Families ages 7 and up. Register children and adults; children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Built by the Union Army in 1861, this fort had a commanding view of the Four Mile Run Valley and protected approaches to Washington from the south. Explore the remaining earthworks while we discuss how and why the fort was built.
