Metrorail:

• Branch Avenue, Suitland and Naylor Road stations are closed through August 31st due to summer construction. Free shuttle buses are available between Branch Avenue and Southern Avenue. Info: https://www.wmata.com/majorconstruction
• Express shuttle bus service is available between Branch Avenue and Southern Avenue through August 31st.
• Expect residual delays to Glenmont following an earlier train with a brake problem at Medical Center.

ART:

• ART Route 87 - Detour
  Detour on ART Route 87 - Stops at S Adams St @ 25th St S (Southbound), 26th St S @ S Veitch St (Southbound), 26th St S @ 25th St S (Northbound) and S Adams St @ 26th St S (Northbound) will not be served between 10:40 PM and 11:59 PM due to police activity
• ART Route 72 - Detour
  Detour on ART Route 72 - Stops at S George Mason Dr @ Columbia Pike (Southbound), S George Mason Dr @ 12th Rd S (Southbound), S George Mason Dr @ 13th St S (Southbound), S George Mason Dr @ 1402 (Southbound) and S Four Mile Run Dr @ S George Mason Dr (Southbound) will not be served between 2:12 PM and 11:59 PM due to police activity
• ART Route 75 - Detour
  Detour on ART Route 75 - Stops at Wilson Blvd @ N Frederick St (Southbound), N Jefferson St @ 8th St N (Southbound), S Jefferson St @ 8th St S (Northbound) and Wilson Blvd @ N George Mason Dr (Northbound) will not be served between 7:52 AM and 11:59 PM due to road closure
• FREE ART Shuttles to the County Fair
  August 13-17, 2025, ART will be running FREE shuttles to the County fair. Shuttles will run every 10 minutes from the Ballston Mall Parking Garage (627 N Glebe Rd). Schedule of operation will start a half hour before the fair opens to a half hour after it closes.
• Columbia Pike Multimodal Project, Segment C - Bus Stop Relocation
  Due to traffic pattern changes from the Columbia Pike Multimodal Project, beginning today, August 4, 2025, Bus Stop Regional ID 6000263 will return to the southwest corner of Columbia Pike and S Scott. In front of the Wellington Apts.
• Military Rd/Custis Project - ART 56 Impact
  Beginning Monday, June 30, 2025, the northbound bus stop at Military Rd/25th Rd N (Stop Id# 6001028) will relocate approximately 120ft. south for approximately four months due to construction activity at the roundabout. Bus service may experience delays.

• A12 - Alert: A12 Service Alert: Northbound buses are on detour until 11:59pm on Sunday, August 17th on S Walter Reed Drive at 7th Street S because of the 2025 Arlington County Fair. • VRE News: New Train Talk Alert System - If you are receiving this message, we wanted to let you know that this version of our Train Talk system is being discontinued effective December 2025. If you wish to continue to receive VRE Train Talk notices regarding train status, news or delay notifications, our new alert platform is now available for sign up. *For those passengers who currently buy tickets through the mobile app: Step 1 – Sign in through our online portal at tickets.vre.org. Step 2 – From the “Account Home” tab, under “Account Info” select “Edit” and choose your Notification Delivery Method. You may choose email, text, or both. Then click “Update Account Info.” Step 3 – From the list on the left, select “Notification Topics.” You may choose “General VRE Information” to receive basic news items and information on holidays and special events. You may also select “Fredericksburg Line” or “Manassas Line” or both to receive service information related to your commute. Then click “Submit”. You are now properly registered to receive Train Talk alerts. *For those passengers who currently buy paper tickets: Like the old Train Talk platform you will need to create an account in order to select your alert preferences.
